Time Commitment: Start of rehearsal process through closing performance, production meetings are not necessarily required but you may be asked to attend some of them.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Stage Manager duties (see under Stage Manager description) as delegated
- Stage sweeping and mopping
- In charge of running things backstage during tech/dress and (especially) performances
- Once the SM moves to the booth, the ASM takes complete charge of running things backstage
Anything Else: While an Assistant Stage Manager is not the one directly responsible for most things per se, you will need to work closely with the SM and understand their tasks. You will be taking direction from the SM for the entire process, so forming a good working relationship early on is a plus.
