Responsibilities:
The term “special project” refers to assigning a student (or group of students) one specific project to focus on. Examples include puppet design and construction, a specialty costume piece (i.e. Milky White from ITW), a single scenic element, weapons master, etc. The student is responsible for the entire creation of the item/task in question and must work with the director and any relevant designers to ensure a cohesive vision for the show.
Individual responsibilities will be determined by the instructor(s), but will include:
- Attending any relevant production meetings
- Creating a plan for said project and following it
- Meeting with appropriate students or instructors
- Attending tech rehearsals and/or dress rehearsals as requested
- Staying on task and in the allotted budget
Anything Else: The student in question must practice effective time management and communication. They will be responsible for setting up any individual meetings or fittings. Keep in mind that actors need to practice with things like weaponry or specialty costume pieces, so a reasonable facsimile to the final product (a “do-fer”) may need to be provided.
