Assistant Lighting Designer

Suggested Pre-requirements: Intro to Design, any lighting design courses available

Credits: 2 (1 if Dance Project)            Practicum Type: Advanced (letter grade)

Report To: Tyler McCarthy tjmccarthy@usnh.edu , Lighting Designer

Location: N/A

Time Commitment: Start of design process (beginning of semester, sometimes a month before) through final dress, all production meetings

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the Lighting Designer (Tasks will vary based on the Lighting Designer):
    • Design process
    • Programming the light board
    • Writing cues

Anything Else: To be a Lighting Designer, you are required to have been an Assistant Lighting Designer at least once.
