This practicum is a very large time commitment. It can easily be overwhelming, even by those doing this professionally. You will be at all rehearsals, all production meetings, the first person in and the last person to leave. You will be up late writing rehearsal reports and other paperwork and fielding questions from cast and crew. If you have a heavy course load, it is not advisable to take on the Stage Management position. It is more important that you keep your grades up and your sanity intact (insofar as that’s possible).
