Company Biographies
JAY BAKER (Ensemble) I am very pumped to be in my first show at PSU it has been a while since I have been on stage I took year off of school for Basic combat training and AIT so I could take advantage of free tuition so as a first year theatre major with an acting option I am very excited to finally be a part of another production.
GARRISON BARRON (Ernie/Ensemble) is from Wolfeboro, New Hampshire and is a Junior at Plymouth State University studying Theater with an option in Acting. Garrison is participating in his third show at Plymouth State, with previous work in Addams Family and Our Town as an ensemble. While he’s not studying or acting in the upcoming show, Garrison switches the role to director and helps out at his local middle school and their theater department. When Garrison isn’t working in the theater he’s very active outdoors whether that be working at Lake Winnipesaukee Golf Course as a maintenance worker and an advert hiker and guide.
LINDSEY BRUNELLE (Sister Mary Patrick) is excited to perform her first production at PSU! Most recently, she was seen as Babette in Beauty and the Beast with the Derryfield Repertory Theatre, Fanny in Sense and Sensibility and Katherine in Newsies at John Stark Regional High School. Lindsey is a sophomore Music Theatre Performance major with a minor in Standardized Patient Training. She is very thankful to have the opportunity to perform and hopes that this production brings you a smile in these crazy times!
LEANNE BURGESS (Mary Martin-of-Tours) is a senior Theater Arts major with an option in Acting. This is her second role as a part of PSU theater. She is also a member of the cross country and track and field teams. She is very excited for this production and hopes you enjoy the show!
CONNOR BUTT (Monsignor O’Hara/Ensemble) is a 19 year old Theatre Arts major with an option in Acting. He is from Boscawen NH and is currently in his second year at PSU. Connor likes to make short films and movies in his free time, he also gets a lot of inspiration from playing D&D with his best pals! This is Connor’s first show here at PSU. He would like to thank his Mom, Dad, Family and Friends for supporting him!
Jessie Chapman (Director) is a teaching lecturer for the Theatre and General Education programs at PSU as well as the Executive Director of Advice To The Players (ATTP) in Sandwich, NH. Jessie has been working with ATTP since 2007 as an actor, teacher, administrator, and behind the scenes. Jessie holds a Master’s Degree in Performing Arts Management from Brooklyn College. She has worked outside NH with Shakespeare & Company, Lincoln Center Theater, Theatre for a New Audience, and the Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts. Jessie lives in Sandwich with her husband, Keith and daughter, Lenore.
CASSANDRA CUTTING (Mother Superior) is a senior Theatre Arts major with options in Music Theatre Performance and Stage Management. Past roles include The Addams Family (Alice), Sweet Charity (U/S Charity, Betsy,) Quilters (Margaret,) Hairspray (LouAnn,) Les Miserables (Cosette,) Into the Woods (The Baker’s Wife,) and You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown (Sallie Brown.) She would like to thank her friends and family for the support they’ve given that has allowed her to be here doing what she loves.
JANAYSIA GETHERS (Deloris Van Cartier) is a Junior Theater Arts major with an option in Music Theatre Performance. Recent credits include Stars in the House with Seth Rudetsky (Guest Star), Addams Family (Pugsley), Robbie Rozelles Inaugural Tuesdays at Feinstein’s 54 Below (Performer), Pippin (Leading Player), The Future is in Eggs (Mother Robert), Hair (Dione), Rocky Horror Picture Show (Riffraff), Heathers (Mrs. Fleming), Ragtime (Ensemble), and Our Town (Rebecca Gibbs). She is looking forward to what her future holds and can’t wait to flourish in the arts.
MICHAEL HUGHES (Tj/Ensemble) is so excited to be performing in his first musical at Plymouth! He is a sophomore Theatre arts major with an option in Music Theatre Performance. Some of his favorite credits include Marius in Les Miserables, Laurie in Little Women, and Don in Singin’ in the Rain. Michael would like to thank his family for getting him through the past few months and for being nothing but supportive. He hopes you enjoy this show!
EMILY KING (Tina/Ensemble) is a sophomore Music Theatre Performance Major with a minor in Standardized Patient Training. She is originally from Connecticut, but has found Plymouth the be her second home. Although this will be her first show at Plymouth State University, she has performed in shows all over Connecticut, including Guys and Dolls, The Music Man, Footloose, Legally Blonde, and Cinderella, just to name a few. Thank you to everyone who helped put on a production like we’ve never imagined could happen. Enjoy the show!
AIDAN LAMONT (Pablo/Ensemble) is a Sophomore Music Education Major from Coventry, RI. Other shows I’ve been in have been 13 the Musical (Archie), West Side Story (Riff), and Heathers (Ram). I am super excited to be playing Pablo in Sister Act and being able to help bring this show to life during such a tumultuous time!
JUSTIN MCCARTHY (Conductor), has been a member of the piano faculty at PSU for 10 years. He has given recitals in New York, Boston, Houston, Dallas, Ireland, and the Czech Republic. As conductor, his recent productions have included Mary Poppins, The Drowsy Chaperone, Wedding Singer, Jacques Brel, Godspell, and Little Women. Dr. McCarthy’s music is published by GIA Publications, Inc. Justin received his Bachelor & Master’s degrees from Rice University, and his Doctorate from Boston University. His teachers have included Paul Cooper, Robert Roux, Bruce MacCombie, and Lukas Foss. In addition to maintaining an active teaching studio, Justin runs performance workshops, and is the staff accompanist at the Manchester Community Music School. He currently serves as music director and organist of St. Elizabeth Seton Parish in Bedford, NH.
EMMA MOLLOY (Stage Manager) is a sophomore Music Theatre Performance major and is so excited to be stage managing her first production at PSU. On campus you can usually find her at the costume shop creating chaos, sitting at the CA desk in her building, or petting any available dog. She’d like to thank the incredible cast and production team for their hard work and her family for their support. Enjoy the show!
PAUL MROCZKA (Director) Paul’s directorial efforts include Good People, Sylvia, and Steel Magnolias (The Barnstormers); Leading Ladies (Jean’s Playhouse); Wittenberg (Advice to the Players), and Game Night, The Trial and The Glass Menagerie (Plymouth State University). Paul, who is also a writer, has created numerous plays, screenplays, and musicals. His works include the plays The Watercress and Smart Money. He’s currently working on a musical with composer Andrew Morrissey about Rasputin entitled Where Two Rivers Meet. His plays and musicals have been produced in NYC and at various regional and university theatres. Paul’s awards include a National Endowment for the Arts Playwriting Fellowship, Shubert Fellowship, and the Jason Miller Award for Playwriting. At PSU, he serves as Director of Theatre and Coordinator of the Standardized Patient Program.
HANNAH MURRAY (Music Director), lyric coloratura, received her B.A. in vocal performance from Connecticut College, and her M.M. in vocal pedagogy and performance from Westminster Choir College. Additional studies include the Royal Academy of Music in London, England, and Middlebury College’s Deutsch fur Sängerin program. A highly sought after voice teacher, Mrs. Murray’s students have gone on to sing at some of the nation’s leading Schools of Music, such as Boston Conservatory, Elon, the Tisch school at NYU and Yale, and have also sung on national musical theater tours, and off and on Broadway. An accomplished singer in her own right, Mrs. Murray has performed throughout the Northeastern United States. She has been a soloist for the Nashua Symphony, The Paul Madore Chorale, The Opera Circle,The Keiser Concert Series at St. Paul’s School, and the Musicians of Wall Street series at Concord Community Music School, amongst others. A resident of Concord NH, Mrs. Murray is the Coordinator of Voice Performance Studies and a Teaching Lecturer in the Music, Theater and Dance department at Plymouth State University where she specializes in voice for musical theater. Formerly, she held the position of Voice and Choral Department Chair at Concord Community Music School, Adjunct Lecturer of Music at St. Anselm College, and spent three years as Music Director at South Congregational Church. She is the mother of two, Grace and Caroline, and is an active member of The National Association of Teachers of Singing.
JAGGER REEP (Joey/Ensemble) is so thrilled to finally be back in a theatre production with this show Sister Act. He’s a sophomore at PSU majoring in Theatre Performance with an option in Music Theater. His past credits include Our Town (ensemble), Legally Blonde (Emmett Forest) Seussical (Cat in the Hat), Thoroughly Modern Millie (Jimmy Smith), Elf (Buddy), which he was a top three nominee for best actor at the New Hampshire Theatre Awards. Jagger would like to thank his family for the continued support, and his theatre family here at Plymouth for being so fun loving and enjoyable to be around. He hopes you enjoy the show!!
KYLE ANDREW SIDDERS (Eddie Souther) is a sophomore studying Theatre Arts: Music Theatre Performance here at PSU. His favorite part about being Eddie is getting to act alongside Janaysia Gethers (Deloris) and playing off of her in their shared scenes.
He has previously performed as Barfee in Plymouth’s production of the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, which was unfortunately cancelled due to COVID 19. He is beyond thrilled that this cast and creative team have found a way to perform despite the world’s current climate and can’t wait for audiences to experience a sense of community after seeing this musical.
CHRISTIAN SIMPSON (Curtis Jackson) is a Junior Musical Theatre Performance Major. Sister Act will be his third show and second musical at Plymouth State, however this will be the first time that Christian has played a real antagonist on stage. His character, Curtis, is one of greed and poor morals and it has been an interesting journey for Christian. As always he is beyond grateful to the amazing cast and crew he has had the pleasure of working with and feels blessed to be able to perform live in a time when that isn’t really possible for most. We hope you enjoy the show!
ANNA SKALA (Sister Mary Theresa/Ensemble) – Anna is beyond thrilled to be apart of such a fantastic show during a time of so much uncertainty. She was recently seen as nine year old boy, Morten, in PSU’s spring production of An Enemy of the People and will be making an appearance as Ali in the upcoming spring show, Mamma Mia. She thanks, and always will thank, her family, friends, and associates for their support and good humor in her endeavors.
HANNAH STREET (MICHELLE/ENSEMBLE), is ecstatic to be back on stage again as Michelle in Sister Act! Hanna has performed in numerous productions around New England for over ten years such as The Seacoast Rep, and Patrick Dorow Productions. Some of her most recent shows include ETC’s Annie (Star-To-Be) and ETC’s The Little Mermaid (Adella.) Hanna also performed in a virtual production of Montague and Capulet for Advice To The Players as Allegra. She would like to thank her family for supporting her passion for the arts and her professors for helping her grow as an actress and a singer! “Take Me To Heaven!”
EMILY TRUBEY (Mary Robert) is a senior Performance major with an option in Music Theatre. Her favorite past roles include (Audrey) Little Shop of Horrors, (Joanna) Sweeney Todd, and (Little Red) Into the woods. She would like to thank her family for their constant love and support, as well as her friends and teachers here at Plymouth. Shakespeare’s War of the Roses – She-wolves and Queens
February 18-20, 2021
A new play uniting the three parts of Shakespeare’s Henry VI and Richard III in an overarching chronicle of England’s War of the Roses. This fast-paced cut tells the story of the bloody un-civil wars between the York’s and Lancaster’s that ravaged England for fifty years. Regale in the political intrigue, abundant swordplay, and relatable antiheroes and don’t worry about historic details (Shakespeare didn’t). This is your chance to see the strongest women in the Shakespeare canon on one stage and learn the story behind Richard III from his beginnings through his downfall.
